Tangerine Peel Essential Oil is a bright, sweet, and uplifting citrus oil expressed from the fresh peel. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), dried tangerine peel is known as 陈皮 (Chén Pí) and has been used for well over 1,000 years, with detailed references appearing in classical texts such as the Shénnóng Běncǎo Jīng and later Ming Dynasty materia medica.

In Chinese herbal tradition, Chén Pí is highly valued not only for the fruit itself but for the aged peel, which is traditionally sun-dried and sometimes stored for years to enhance its character and perceived potency. The peel is associated with regulating Qi, supporting digestion, and restoring internal balance. Southern China, particularly regions with warm climates, abundant sunshine, and well-drained soils, is especially renowned for producing high-quality tangerine peel.
